The Three Pillars of Health and Fitness

Everybody wants to be a healthy and happy, right? Everyone wants to be the best version of themselves. Everyone wants to be satisfied that the decisions that they have made lead them to the results that they have desired. And health and fitness is a huge part of this. From a logistical standpoint, you can consider that health and fitness as a whole has three pillars.

If you approach health and fitness from the concept of diet and nutrition, exercise and movement, and attitude and mindfulness, then you’ll find that there is a positive focal point where all of those ideas intersect. If you leave out any part of that equation, then you’re never going to get to the ideal place in your life. And just knowing that there are three pillars isn’t good enough either. You have to participate in building all of them up actively!

Diet and Nutrition

Let’s start with diet and nutrition. You are what you eat! The more positive fuel you put in your body, the more positive results you’re going to get. Now, not everyone is an expert when it comes to diet and nutrition, and that’s why you have to learn who to trust. You can follow a nutritional system that makes sense for your situation and then go all in. There are companies, like Training in the Bay, for example, that provide detailed information about different nutritional systems and what their potential benefits and detriments are. In addition to following companies, you can also heed the advice of doctors, nutritionists, and other people in the field that will know more than you do about how nutrition affects the body.

Exercise and Movement

The next pillar of health and fitness is going to be exercise and movement. Now that you have your essential diet under control, the idea will be that you want free and easy movement without pain throughout your entire range of motion, and the right amount of muscle mass to make you feel healthy and comfortable. If you lead an active lifestyle, you will already naturally have some physical fitness incorporated into your routines. However, if you’re more of a couch potato at this very moment, then it is time to get up and start moving, and follow basic exercise guidelines!

Attitude and Mindfulness

The final pillar of your health and fitness regards your attitude and mindfulness. If you don’t have a basic self-awareness, then the best diet in the world mixed with the most intense physical exercise isn’t going to do you any good. We’ve all known those people that obsess over their diets and their exercise routines but are still unhappy, and make people around them miserable as well. This is not a good final goal! Make sure that you keep your physical goals in tune with your mental state.
